County Commissioners Listen, But Say Nothing, About Anti-Tethering Law
Polk County commissioners heard from supporters and opponents of a proposed anti-tethering law Tuesday and then moved on without comment. The issue was brought by Renee Rivard, secretary of the Florida Chapter of The League of Humane Voters, an animal welfare group.
County Commissioners Voted to Loan Commerce Centre CRA Another $850,000
County commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday to loan the long-troubled Polk Commerce Centre Community Redevelopment Agency another $850,000. The money will be used to pay a court-mediated settlement to the CRA's former lawyers, who say they were owed for work they did for the agency.
