Twenty four thousand diverse people cannot be wrong! They live, work and play in the City of Rockledge and enjoy a high quality of life here. Rockledge, the oldest city in Brevard County was incorporated in 1887. It encompasses approximately ten square miles along the shoreline of the Indian River Lagoon. The community derives its name from the presence of coquina rock outcrops in the area.

Rockledge is primarily a residential community but it also has a growing industrial base of clean, light industry. It is home to a wide variety of commercial centers to meet the needs of its residents. There are four public schools and three private schools that take care of the education of youngsters growing up in this lovely town. The local congregation prays at the various churches of different denominations.

A recent facility offered to the residents is that they can order library books online at Rockledge City Hall. This system allows persons to pick up and return books to City Hall. The medical needs of the residents are taken care of at the Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital, a full service acute care hospital with a full complement of health service affiliates.

There are a number of beautiful parks in Rockledge offering plenty of recreational facilities. Mc Larty Park is the home of Rockledge Little League and offers fun for the entire family. Facilities include five baseball fields, playground, two tennis courts, basketball, community swimming pool and picnic pavilion.

Rockledge Park, with its baseball fields, softball fields, a jogging/exercise trail, eight lighted tennis courts, two racquetball courts, soccer fields, playground and picnic pavilion is the meeting place of the local girl’s softball, youth soccer and football, and the racquet association. Taylor Park has a lovely children’s playground and gives anglers an opportunity to try their luck at Valencia Dock, overlooking the Indian River Lagoon.

The Martin Andersen Senior Center is popular with active seniors who get the opportunity to swing at Saturday night dances or join a dance class to learn tap, line, Latin and ballroom dancing. The center also offers a choral group, art class, craft group, quilting group, duplicate and party bridge, Pinochle, Canasta, aerobics/exercise, and the ever-popular bingo.

Rockledge Country Club is a full service country club with an exciting eighteen-hole championship golf course set in scenic surroundings with well-manicured fairways and greens. The Space Coast Iceplex in Rockledge has a large ice rink and offers skating, ice hockey and other sports.

The excellent weather and relaxed life at Rockledge has attracted many retirees. Indian Oaks is a gated retirement community in Rockledge surrounded by spring lake ponds and majestic oak trees. Indian Oaks offers an unspoiled countryside where wildlife can often be seen. Active seniors can enjoy tennis and other outdoor activities. The community boasts of a fine Fitness Center, Pools and Spas.

Swiss Inn and Tennis Center offers comfortable rooms for visitors and facilities for tennis and other sports. Rockledge has so much to offer its residents and the best part is its location. All Florida’s attractions are less than an hour away!
