Located in western Palm Beach County, Wellington grew from wetlands and ranchland into one of South Florida’s best-known master-planned communities. Land associated with the area’s development was purchased by C. Oliver Wellington in the 1950s, and the community expanded as a planned development in the 1970s before incorporating as the Village of Wellington in 1995. Today, Wellington is widely known for its equestrian venues, family-friendly neighborhoods, parks, shopping, and convenient access to attractions across the western Palm Beaches.
