Casselberry, Florida
Casselberry traces its roots to the 1920s, when Hibbard Casselberry of Chicago acquired land in the area and helped encourage early residential and agricultural development. Fern cultivation was an important part of the local economy in those years, and improved rail and road access supported growth in what was then a largely rural part of Seminole County.
The town incorporated in 1940 with about 100 residents, and Hibbard Casselberry served as its first mayor. The community expanded after World War II and was reincorporated as a city in 1965. Today, Casselberry is an established Seminole County community with roughly 30,000 residents, known for its neighborhoods, lakes, parks, and convenient location just north of Orlando.
