Just north of Fort Lauderdale in eastern Broward County, Oakland Park blends established neighborhoods, local parks, and a growing dining scene with a strong community feel. The city takes its name from the area’s oak trees and occupies land once associated with the old Floranada community, which was heavily affected by the 1926 hurricane.
